The mighty Imperial Palace (Kaiserpfalz) Goslar –

evidence of the historical importance of town and region

The Imperial Palace is representative of the political importance of the mining town that resulted from the mining activities. Erected between 1040 and 1050 under Heinrich III, it is the largest and also best-preserved secular building from the 11th century north of the Alps. For more than 200 years, German and European history was written here during numerous meetings of the imperial and royal court.

Visit the exhibition on the history of the mediaeval rulers and be amazed by the 11th century emperor's throne made from Rammelsberg copper and the monumental wall paintings from the 19th century.
