A thousand steps through the historic town centre

Experience a guided tour around Goslar's historic centre. Be enchanted by romantic half-timbered buildings and imperial architecture in the UNESCO World Heritage Site.


City Hall tour

Embark on a journey through different architectural styles and epochs. Marvel at the "starry sky" on the hallway of the town hall. The medieval town hall with assembly hall and meeting room was built between 1295 and 1326 and repeatedly rebuilt and expanded. In the 15th and 16th centuries in particular, the town hall complex was modernized and expanded as was typical of the time.

The tour starts daily at 11:30 a.m. / 2:00 p.m
Meeting point: Nagelkopf (at the historic town hall)

Walk in the afternoon

Discover picturesque half-timbered alleyways and imposing buildings on a stroll through the UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Of water and ore – Goslar in flux

Along the waterways of the Gose and Abzucht you will find out about their interesting connections with mining and their influence on the development of the town. Drinking water supply and the use of water power are two important factors. You can take a look into the Lohmühle bark mill, where there is old and impressive technology to marvel at.


Imperial Town & Imperial Palace

A guided tour in the town with a visit to the inside of the monumental Imperial Palace. This exceptional example of secular architecture contains an extensive exhibition about itinerant courts as well as the history of the emperors and the palace.
